Vernissage le jeudi 18 décembre 2008 de 18h à 21hL’exposition CENT, une proposition de Régine KOLLE (artiste), Philippe SEGOND (artiste) et Clodagh KEOGH, réunit une centaine d’artistes de toutes nationalités. Les commissaires ont souhaité sélectionner des œuvres graphiques, généralement sur papier, qui n'ont jamais été montrées.
Les raisons peuvent être multiples, un dessin trop choquant, trop politique, trop intime, orphelin dans la production de l’artiste, ou bien conservé comme la trace d’une étape de sa réflexion. CENT, au travers d’œuvres rares ou cachées permet de dévoiler une autre facette du travail de ces artistes.

100 Artists from all nationalities join together in CENT at the defrost galerie Paris. The show compromises of small works on paper that have been previously unseen due to them being either too shocking, too political, too sentimental, or a part of the artists work that was merely a starting point to later outcomes. The aim of the show is reveal another side to the perceived artists work and is meant to reflect all manner of creative thought processes and outcomes.
The 100 artists work will cover the walls of the galerie in the manner of nineteenth century painting exhibitions.

Homer SimpsonThe English word Indifference and its German translation Gleichgültikeit can obviously be read in different
ways. The common meaning of indifference is the of apathy, being not involved or a lack of interest.
The German version Gleichgültigkeit however stresses the equality of validation, being on the same level,
being equal.
The collective exhibition Indifference (is bliss) that will open on the 30th of October 2008 in the labyrinth like
premises of an old doctor’s practice in the council estate building ‘Forum Kreuzberg’ on Skalitzer Strasse
133 in Berlin will present artistic positions that follow these aspects on indifference.
The show will expose works by German and international artists. Some of them follow fully their own leads in
their professional approach beyond common practices of the art market and its institutions. Part of the exhi-
bition will be e.g. the Australian artist Adam Nankervis who has run his own museum for several years already.
MuseumMAN manifests itself wherever the artist stays and it then becomes home, meeting point and exhibi-
tion space for local and visiting artists. Through that Nankervis has build a self-reliant structure that makes
him independent from state supported fellow institutions. Other examples of the shown works will more or
less directly reflect upon the theme indifference in the their content. The Dutch artist Sebastiaan Schlicher
e.g. establishes in most of his big formatted humoristic post-punk phantasms on paper one protagonist that
so to speak drowns in a multitude of forms, colours, materials and text tags. The viewer then is confronted
with a plethora of propositions and an excess of statements and it behoves oneself to decipher them or not.
The initiators of the exhibition, the Berlin based artists Johannes Buss and Eduardo Raccah, look at the phe-
nomenon Indifference as an oppositional power. As an attitude that in itself denies to take position, it always
also automatically becomes a statement. Indifference fills in the space, in which one willingly does not take a
posture or not a definite one. The participating artists will regard the theme from different viewpoints, may it
be Indifference towards social, economic, political or artistic conditions.

Das englische Wort indifference und dessen deutsche Fassung Gleichgültigkeit, lassen sich offensichtlich auf
unterschiedliche Arten lesen. In der gängigen Übersetzung wird indifference als Teilnahmslosigkeit, Undif-
ferenziertheit oder Apathie verstanden. In der deutschen Fassung Gleichgültigkeit liegt die ursprüngliche
Bedeutung interessanterweise auf der Gleichstellung der Wertigkeit, eben gleichgültig.
Die Gruppenausstellung INDIFFERENCE (is bliss), die am 30. Oktober in den labyrinthartigen Räumen einer
ehemaligen Arztpraxis im 70er Jahre Neubau ‚Forum Kreuzberg’ in der Skalitzer Straße 133 in Berlin eröff-
net, wird ebenfalls diese unterschiedlichen Aspekte aufgreifen.
INDIFFERENCE (is bliss) wird eine Auswahl von Werken deutscher und internationaler Künstler zusammen
bringen. Einige der Künstler grenzen sich in ihrer Arbeit von gängigen Praktiken des Kunstmarktes und des-
sen Institutionen ab. So wird zum Beispiel der australische Künstler Adam Nankervis beteiligt sein. Nankervis
betreibt seit mehreren Jahren sein eigenes Museum, das MuseumMAN, dass sich jeweils dort manifestiert,
wo der Künstler sich gerade aufhält. MuseumMAN ist dann Wohnort, Treffpunkt und Ausstellungsraum für
Künstler und somit autark und gleichgültig gegenüber staatlich finanzierten Partnerinstitutionen. Andere
Künstler bearbeiten das Thema Gleichgültigkeit mehr oder minder direkt inhaltlich in ihrer Arbeit. Der nieder-
ländische Künstler Sebastiaan Schlicher z.B. stellt in seinen meist großformatigen humoristischen Postpunk
Phantasmen auf Papier oftmals einen Protagonisten zentral, der in ein Meer von Form-, Farb- und Textele-
menten eingerahmt ist. Der Zuschauer ist somit beim Betrachten mit einer Vielzahl von Aussagen konfrontiert
und muss nun selbst entscheiden, wie er diese interpretiert.
Die Organisatoren der Ausstellung, die Künstler Johannes Buss (DE) und Eduardo Raccah (BR/DE), begrei-
fen das Phänomen Gleichgültigkeit auch als Opposition; eine Haltung die keine sein will, die jedoch in ihrer
Form als Nicht-Position automatisch auch immer eine Haltung vergegenwärtigt. Gleichgültigkeit füllt somit
den Raum, in dem willentlich keine bzw. keine eindeutige Position eingenommen wird. Die beteiligten Künstler
interpretieren das Thema unter verschiedenen Gesichtspunkten, wie z.B. Gleichgültigkeit gegenüber sozialen,
gesellschaftlichen, politischen oder auch künstlerischen Verhältnissen.
Die Ausstellung läuft vom 31. Oktober bis 7. November 2008, die Öffnungszeiten sind täglich von 14 bis 19
Uhr (außer Montag). Es werden Videoarbeiten, Installationen, Skulpturen, Zeichnungen und Performances zur
Ausstellung stehen. Folgende Künstler werden an der Ausstellung beteiligt sein:
